Inspired by vintage styles, yet imitating the looks of today, are what my lamps are all about. These light bulbs give such an authentic, vintage look to any light fixture.
A client sent me the picture below with the variety of true vintage pendant lights. She asked me to create a similiar looking pendant.
So, here's my design. I'm often hesitant to use the new rayon, twisted wire that is available because with a glass shade you're beginning to add weight. And that can be dangerous as the twisted wire is not U.L. listed. So I thought, why not!?!? If Pottery Barn can take my idea, why can't I mimic them. My client wanted a smaller canopy, three true vintage jars, blue jars and a specific drop length. Now Pottery Barn's not going to do that for you. So here it is. I really like how this looks and can easily visualize it in a cottage or country home. But, if you don't like blue, I'm also introducing a clear canning jar chandelier that has lots of sparkle.LampGoods by Jannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13571297616585191016noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3582634690106095024.post-17471475846544339802010-09-06T13:25:00.000-07:002010-09-06T13:31:50.898-07:00Did POTTERYBARN Copy my CHANDELIER?<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 383px; height: 344px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihoVaoBqCIAUV1uPjTB7-mbWdPJ0Im0bKDtsrObRkhlT2yhSP9adVSKM3BWtYHTYWYvCv0kdY8SLuExGnxpm5OG9UkTBpJ0pd2j50iX0YF51AVqrpNC0HEA8Hzmnt3BM-pFo_WcS0rjq4/s400/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5513900168371581586" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 234px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLkq8F26VuEESSKZPTwfdctHI5yy_xSC_42fwVzPACxBNPsEs9zOXv4Hr-tQjfxRTqTMVKjp53QeziAzL_M7HtJYLfcffMAQSmkIiEB2XHDUtyq9VdMdypwL9M_hp9LPYqezRlH9g4x1I/s400/blue+jar+chandel+small+(2).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5513899972210513362" />
Perhaps they did! And I'm sure there is a scientific answer, but to me the question is so personal that I can't answer it.
Not only do you have the number of windows in the room, you have to think of the other lights you might be using, i.e. table and floor lamps. Also, how do you intend on using the room? Viewing TV in a brightly lit room, is not very pleasing to me, but either is trying to do a task without enough light. So, again it becomes a personal choice.LampGoods by Jannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13571297616585191016noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3582634690106095024.post-27632325688621969612010-07-18T12:21:00.000-07:002010-07-18T12:51:21.766-07:00Fashion Designer's Choice<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgj9mweC_G0_ZudrSqMedkksOkVhoDEXJns45fT3WxiB6VZdKFrhhpqKvm97WXIbqsBe_Uk_S7-IfOZSCR5rR7LaTrU1iuP5Tde5i_PxAq_CplT7EEqzSnSV0QoiPKU04dkFRGGM0qOpns/s400/photo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495330087687325714" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIzd2STmWRaN6f1t2hOWkOE8u2r6SMFIPr6DnyYuXW45FdEkXVSrqSeKSTmTgjxhsTeTtFnR4H3dBS7WU9cvVqWCoCH8FISoemvcTDOxljhv_ntvt4zkziesP2BwnyxY72urxdPLHxISs/s320/photo+frt.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495329306473227458" />
Clothing designer, jodi arnold, prepares for the opening of her second store location, this time in Brooklyn, NY. Here's what Jodi says about her work. "My design voice has always been inspired by my love of prints, patterns, and creating unique twists that are unexpected yet at the same time very wearable.
