Inspiration

I love lighting that is unique and captures the imagination. Inspired by vintage styles, yet imitating the looks of today, are what my lamps are about. Giving a room the focal point it deserves while staying original.

Minimalist Lighting

Do you like the look of simple refinement? Lacking ornate decoration? Then you'll love the minimalist look. Its so calming and relaxing to the eye. A look that you will never tire of because of its simple, clean lines. Here in this client's home is a trio of minimalist pendants. Given interest with the twisted wire and added 'loops'. Very modern!

Sophiticated and Transitional

Putting together a sleek, contemporary set of tinted glass globes with black and white photography and a 'frenchie' in dining room chairs and you have a fun and delightful room. This client did just that and what a wonderful outcome. I love how she braided the pendant wires together to give it a modern feel. Beautiful!

Relax...Soft Conversion for Can Lights

When you have can lighting, it can be too harsh for the enviroment. Here this client used the 'conversion kits' available that allow you to transform a can light into a hanging pendant without having to tear into the ceiling.
Look at how much softer and relaxing these lights are and they provide just the right setting for a relaxing 'soak'.

Sometimes a 'Match' is not the best choice.

Often we think we have to have our light fixtures 'match'. Well this bold and creative gal decided she wanted something different. She chose a schoolhouse style, milkglass globe, but allowed them to be slightly different in size and shade. I think it gives the porch a lovely charm and blends in much better than if they were all matching.

Vintage or New?

I love some of the new products that are available..like the filament Edison inspired, squirrel-cage light bulbs. These light bulbs give such an authentic, vintage look to any light fixture.
A client sent me the picture below with the variety of true vintage pendant lights. She asked me to create a similiar looking pendant.
So, here's my design. I'm often hesitant to use the new rayon, twisted wire that is available because with a glass shade you're beginning to add weight. And that can be dangerous as the twisted wire is not U.L. listed. So I stayed with the black pendant wire.

Don't COPY This POTTERYBARN!

Here's my version of the FIRST canning jar sconce ready for any country, cottage, rustic or transitional decor. I love it and many new clients are beginning to enjoy them in their homes as well. The glow of the light through the vintage canning jar with its raised lettering is so...'comfortable'. Then the original wire bale adds to the charm. The sconce has a warm, oiled-bronze finish. I also like the use of the pint jars for smaller areas.
Here's one of my favorite customers 'showing-off' her beautiful sconces in her master bedroom. Gorgeous!
